Own a fresh-food business inside America's leading retailers
No rent. No build-out. One flat fee, a proven model, and a support team that has opened hundreds of these before.
Our proven franchise model spans three high-demand categories: handcrafted sushi, fresh-cut produce, and in-store ready meals, delivering a complete fresh-prep solution across top national retailers.
Built on a model we have already opened hundreds of times
Hana has run fresh-food counters inside major retailers for twenty-five years. Opening one means inheriting that operating history — the recipes, the supply chain, the food-safety program, and a field team that has almost certainly solved your problem before.
- 25+Years operating
- 500+Retail locations
- 40+States and growing
- 3Fresh-food categories
One agreement. Three ways to earn.
One franchise agreement, three ways to earn. Most owners start with the category their retail partner needs most, then add the others as the box grows.
The category that built the company
Chef-crafted sushi made fresh in front of customers, every day, inside the retailers they already shop. This is the deepest part of our model — nearly 2,000 kiosks of operating history, two established brands, and a training program built specifically around it.
- Operated under our Genji and Mai brands
- Five days of hands-on training before you open
- Responsibly sourced seafood, third-party verified
Daily prep your retail partner cannot outsource
Fruit and vegetable programs cut and packed in-store every morning under your retail partner's own brand. Shorter shelf life means shorter supply chains, which means the work has to happen where the customer is — and that is exactly where your franchise already sits.
- Cut and packed in-store, every day
- Runs under retail-partner-owned brands
- Same food-safety standards as our seafood program
The add-on that turns a kiosk into a destination
Ready-to-eat meals extend the hours your counter earns. Sushi peaks at lunch; hot and prepared meals carry the dinner trip. For an owner already staffed and open, this is incremental revenue on infrastructure you are paying for either way.
- Expands an existing kiosk rather than a new build
- Captures the dinner and commuter trip
- Shares prep space, staff, and cold chain

I'm one of the current franchisees of Mai Sushi. I've been carrying the quality and recipe from them for almost 6 years now, and my experience was always great. We all have great opportunities to grow as small businesses in our respective areas, with the best quality products and attentive support from the team behind it.

Franchising FAQ
Training, timelines, support, and how locations are awarded. If your question is not here, ask us directly.
If you are awarded a franchise, you receive five days of in-person training at our training center, plus on-site pre-opening training and support. That includes ordering guidance and help establishing the right mix of offerings for your location.
Approval typically takes 30 to 90 days from first conversation. Opening the store after that depends on the location and your retail partner's schedule. We would rather tell you the real timeline up front than describe this as a quick application.
Yes. A dedicated field team supports you on an ongoing basis, and many of its members have operated these counters themselves. We are happy to walk through exactly what that support looks like for your situation.
In most cases franchisees are awarded specific locations rather than territories. There may be multi-unit opportunities within the same geographic area, or the chance to operate satellite locations close to your primary one.
Tell us where you want to operate
We open locations alongside our retail partners across more than 40 states, and priority markets shift as their footprint grows. Rather than have you guess which ones are open, tell us the market you have in mind and we will tell you honestly what is available there.
No application fee and no obligation. A member of our franchise team reads every inquiry and follows up directly — approval typically takes 30 to 90 days from the first conversation.
